UNEP
Agenda Item: Achieving multilateral cooperation between countries in tackling climate change and encouraging states transition to green energy
Climate change poses an urgent global threat, affecting ecosystems, economies, and human security. Addressing this challenge requires strong multilateral cooperation, as no single nation can mitigate its impacts alone. This agenda calls upon SONKALMUN’26 UNEP delegates to explore effective ways for countries to work together, share responsibilities, and uphold international environmental commitments. A major focus is the global transition to green and renewable energy. While essential for reducing emissions, the shift to clean energy remains uneven due to financial limitations, technological gaps, and differing national interests. Delegates must examine how climate financing, technology transfer, capacity building, and international partnerships can support all states ,especially developing nations, in adopting sustainable energy systems.
